Our dear readers will notice a change in this issue; Alhamdullillah
a change for the better. We have added more pages to include more information. One
addition is the onward translation of the simple yet poignant book in 5 volumes "
Manifestation of The Stages of Excellence in Worship" by Hadrat Shaikh Abu Anees
Muhammad Barkat Ali Muddazilluhu. Inshaallah you will see the pearls of wisdom this work
contains. It is an account of his own life, which truly is an unadulterated reflection of
the life of our Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Muhammad
. The 2nd
addition is "Virtues of Purification".
By the Grace of Allah
letters and
phone calls continue pouring in, expressing moving appreciation, Duas {supplication] {May
Allah Ta'la please accept them, Ameen}, requests to be included in the mailing list and
generous contributions. This we know fully well can only happen by the Mercy of Almighty
Allah, Who we try humbly to please by serving humanity.
We thank you all profusely. May Allah
bless you by making your life truly virtuous by putting into practice what we place in
your hands every month, Ameen.
Alhamdullillah this overwhelming response is not only in the USA but throughout the 570 centers. Here in the USA, once Muslims start to seriously reform themselves and start to experience the bliss of a virtuous Islamic life, it then becomes incumbent upon us to spread this bliss by inviting others to experience it in their lives. This has a profound ripple effect. We look forward to establishing 50 to 100 centers in the USA {at least 1 or 2 in each state.}
Each center will strive to become a model of Islamic Virtues, Inshaallah. Many of our readers of today will enthusiastically become dynamic participators in this great and rewarding work, tomorrow. Precisely the work for which Allah The Almighty has placed all of us in this part of the world.
The mere thought of this great future fills us with excitement and
enthusiasm. Plans are already underway and you will be kept informed as Allah
helps us make progress in this direction:
The Holy Quran, The Beloved of Allah Muhammad
and the collective Muslim Scholars of all times have left no
doubts whatsoever about the essentially of the 5 daily prayers for a Muslim to remain in
the fold of Islam. Yet it has been the tragic story of Muslims for centuries that a vast
majority did not and do not perform this basic and essential 5 times daily worship,
oblivious of the terrible consequences which this negligence entails both in this world
and in the Hereafter. It is this ignorance that led to the steady decadence of the Muslim
Ummah throughout the world. The disasters and tragedies that Allah
allowed to visit Muslim countries in the past and in the
present is powerful and clear evidence for those who care and understand. It is therefore
important to realize that abandonment and neglect of performance of this 'Imaduddeen
{pivotal pillar of The Deen} is considered by Allah
a
major sin. Books of Fiqh and Shariah abound with evidence that the very first question and
accounting on the day of judgment will be about the 5 times daily Salah performed on time.
If the book of deed shows this duty to be complete then accounting will be taken of Sayam
{fasting}, Zakah {conditional} and Hajj {conditional}. If the accounting shows that the 5
times Salah in their appointed times is lacking, the unfortunate person will be ordered by
Allah
the Perfect and Absolute Judge to be consigned to
Hell-Fire without further questioning. While numerous quotations from The Quran, and
Ahadith could be produced regarding the Tortures of The Grave and The Tortures of The
Hell-Fire for these unfortunate people, for the purpose of this issue we will confine
ourselves to only a few evidences and then revert to the incredible rewards which await
those who realize that the 5 times daily worship is a Supreme gift from the most
Beneficent and Merciful Lord of The Universe and are attracted to this gift as bees are
attracted to flowers.
In Surah 63 Al-Munafiqoon, Ayah 9 Allah Most High says: Translation:
"O you who believe, let neither your wealth nor your children distract you from the
remembrance of Allah. And those who do so, they will be the losers." Mufassireen
{commentators} say that remembrance of Allah
in this verse
means the 5 daily Salah. Those who are so busy buying and selling, or with their daily
work of earning a livelihood, or with their children, that they do not perform payers on
time, will be {in the Hereafter as well as here} among losers {end up in the
Hell-Fire}.
In Surah 74 Al-Muddathir, Ayah 42-48 Allah Most High says: Translation: {The people in Hell will be asked:} What caused you to enter Hell-Fire? They will say: We were not among those who prayed {regularly on time} ------------ Then no intercession by intercessors will benefit them."
The Beloved of Allah Muhammad Mustafa
said: The first thing that will be judged among a person's deeds on the Day of Judgment is
the Salah. If that is in good order {performed 5 times daily on time, since adulthood], he
will pass the test and succeed, and if that is defective {includes delaying Salah till the
last minute or performing it until after expiry of time habitually {Qada}, he will fail
the test and will be a loser." {Tirmidhi}
The Beloved of Allah Muhammad Mustafa
said: The covenant between us and them {that is believers} is Salah; so if anyone abandons
it {being irregular missing even one Salah daily or often is considered abandonment} he
has become a infidel {Kaafir}." {Ahmad, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawood Nisai, Tirmidhi}
The Beloved of Allah Muhammad Mustafa Mercy to the Worlds
has also said: "What lies between a man and Kufr {disbelief}
is the abandonment of Salah." {Muslim}
To those of our dear readers who were in the dark or in doubt about
the matters about Salah we say with the utmost love, "please wake up". And for
our beloved readers who are by the Grace of Allah
punctual
in their Salah we supplicate to Him to give you higher and higher levels in closeness to
Him, Ameen; and add: "please use this evidence to help all those you know who are in
grave danger, to perform their Salah regularly." For this service you will be most
generously rewarded by Allah
whose generosity knows no
bounds.
"The magnificent rewards and virtues of Salah will be
included in our next publication, Inshaallah."
It is mentioned in The Jawahar Ghaibi {Jewels of The Unseen} that in
this month the Companions of the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
may Allah be pleased with them all, the Taba'een {those who saw
the holy Companions} and Taba' Taba'een {the ones who saw the Taba'een} used to perform as
a gift to the Blessed Soul of the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad, 20 Raka'h daily for 12
days. If one can not perform this Salah daily, at least it should be performed on the 2nd
and 12th day and the gift passed on to the Soul of the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
,because the Beloved of my soul
came in the dreams of those
who performed this Salah, and gave them the good news of Paradise. Seeing the Beloved of
my soul, Hadrat Muhammad
in the dream after his demise and
giving the good news of Paradise just as if one saw him in real life.
It is mentioned in "Kitabul Awrad" that on the night the Hilal {visible moon} is seen, one should perform 16 Raka'h Nafl {voluntary} Salah, in sections of 2 Raka'ah and intentions {Niyyah} of 2 Raka'ah each and in each Raka'ah recite after Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Ikhlas 3 times and after the completion of the 16 Raka'ah recite the following Salatul Nabi {Durood} on The Beloved of Allah, one thousand times:
The above Durood when continued to be recited daily for 12 days {one
thousand times each day} after Salatul 'Isha, and then going to sleep in the state of
wudu, the reciter will Inshaallah Ta'la see the Beloved of my soul, Hadrat Muhammad
.
It is written in "Kitabul Mashaikh" that from the night on which the Hilal of Rabi-ul-Awwal is seen, if one recites the following Durood 1.025 times after Salatul 'Isha:
![]()
he will see the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
in his dream.
In the same book it is written that any one who recites in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal one hundred and twenty five thousand times any one of the following 2 Duroods
XXXXX
he will certainly see the beloved of my soul Muhammad
in his dream.
In our pervious issue we strove to make the point that a
"Muslim" identity is essential for Muslim unity. The is so basic and simple to
understand. It is a strong Muslim identity which weaves its way through races, countries,
languages, professions, colours, shapes etc. and holds the entire Muslim nation into one
wonderfully cohesive, loving, strong force, benefiting the entire world with the most
compassionate, kind and caring way of life which was taught by every prophet and Messenger
of Allah
from Adam
, through
Ibraheem
, to Musa {Moses}
, Isa
{Jesus}
, to the last Messenger and Prophet of Allah and His
most Beloved Hadrat Muhammad
.
Our precious gems, the readers of these lines, may our entire life
be spent in serving you, caring for you and sharing Islamic virtues with you. Please do
not ever under estimate what you can do towards uniting the Muslim Ummah. Please do not
ever forget that 1400 years ago, ONE selected human being started TEACHING Islam. He
ALWAYS PRACTICED what he taught, and he taught with LOVE, COMPASSION, PATIENCE, and
FORBEARANCE brave, undaunted by the formidable task facing him and had absolute faith and
trust in Almighty Allah who sent him with the mission. Today there are more than 1 billion
and 200 million in his ummah. If we just practice the eternal principles he left behind in
the shape of the Holy Quran and his beautiful practices {Sunnah}, we must believe history
can be repeated, over and over again. The essence is:
1}Practice Islamic Virtues yourself.
2}Teach and educate {do not preach} others around you starting with your family. Share the contents of "Virtues of Islamic Life" with whoever that is receptive.
3}Remember our work is to inform and motivate not enforce.
Our dear readers, have you noticed that the Almighty Allah, every
time He says in the Holy Quran "Oh you who believe" He follows up by saying
"and perform good deeds". Faith therefore must lead to good deeds. As a matter
of fact it is only good deeds which ratify the level, strength and the health of our
faith. You also must have noticed that the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Beloved of
Allah
enjoin, doing and practing with togetherness. Hence the
beautiful command to do our Salahs in Jama'ah. The Beloved of my soul the Rasoolallah
never ever missed even one Salah with Jama'h. Moreover he
mentioned in his Ahadith, that praying in Jama'h in a masjid one
receives 27 or 29 times more rewards than praying alone at home. You see how much more
Allah Ta'la is pleased if we perform the daily gift of Salah together in masjid. The same
togetherness is encouraged in Salatul Jama'ah once a week on Fridays. Again we should not
miss this emphasis in the Hadith of the Beloved of Allah Muhammad
that missing the Jum'ah Salah 3 in a row {continuously} actually
takes us out of the fold of Islam!
Furthermore we are encouraged to:
How can one miss from all above that Muslims are encouraged to live and perform good deeds in life as one huge family. As a matter of fact this togetherness is the virtue of all virtues of Islamic life.
Let us now examine the importance of an Ameer {leader} in the scheme
of this wonderful gregariousness. Allah
has emphasized in
the Holy Quran in no uncertain terms, laws of harmony for the success togetherness.
1.Chose Ameers
2.Obedience
From childhood we are taught to obey our parents impeccably. We are
told that Paradise is at the feet of our mothers. We are told not even to say
"oof" to our parents, which means to crush any tendency to "talk back"
at them. In marriage wives are encouraged to consider the husband as "Ameer" and
to obey him as the leader of the house and family. The Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
has mentioned that if ever prostration {sajdah} was permissible
toward anyone other than Allah
, it would be for a wife to
prostrate towards her husband. This is not an encouragement for a husband to become a
tyrant, but inculcate among men behavior of love, compassion, responsibility, forgiveness,
and patience {qualities, of leadership} towards the wife and family. {to be continued
Inshaallah}
Wile donations are welcome they are not solicited. All our publications, and programs which include Da'wah and Tableegh, holding seminars and lectures through the United States and distributing food and other essentials to the needy non-denominationally are Fee Sabeelillah, to seek the pleasure of Allah.
It is narrated by Hadrat Ayeshah Siddeeqah
that the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
sent a person as a leader of the army who also used to lead their
Salah. He used to recite {after Surah Al Fatiha} only Surah Al-Ikhlas in every Salah. When
these people returned they mentioned this to the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
. He asked them to ask him why he does that. When asked he said
that there is attribute of Allah
in Surah Al-Ikhlas and I
like to recite it. The Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
then
said please inform this person that Allah
also likes him.
{Bukhari, Muslim, Mishkat Shareef, Tarteeb Shareef Pg. 261}
Hadrat Anas
narrates that a person
humbly submitted to the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
"O
Rasoolallah
I like this Surah {Surah Al-Ikhlas}". The
Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
said this liking of yours
will take you into paradise. {Tirmidhi, Mishkat Shareef, Tarteeb Shareef Pg. 262}
Hadrat Abu Amamah Bahali
narrates that
at Tabouk {a city in Arabia} Jibreel
came to the Beloved of
Allah Hadrat Muhammad
and humbly submitted "O Muhammad
please be present at the Salatul Janazah {funeral prayer} of
Hadrat Ma'awiyah Mazni. The narrator
says that the Beloved
of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
commenced {his journey} and Jibreel
descended with 70,000 angels and placed his right wing on the top
of the mountains and levelled them and his left wing on the ground and levelled it to such
a degree that Mecca Mu'azzamah and Madinah Munawwarah could be seen in front. The narrator
says that the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
performed the Salatul Janazah and Jibreel
and also the angels "Alaihimis Salam. When the Beloved of
Allah Hadrat Muhammad
had completed the Salatul Janazah he
asked "O Jibreel what is the reason that Ma'awiyah
has attained this level?" Jibreel
replied "Because standing, sitting, , walking around, or
riding {in every condition} he recited Surah Al-Ikhlas." { 'Amal ul Yaum Wa Lallail,
Ibn Sunni, Tarteeb Shareef Pg. 261-262}
Thirty Four Sunnahs and Adaab of Salaam {continued}
12.When saying Salam, to bend down as much as the Ruku' is not permissible and to bend down less than the Ruku' is Makrooh {highly disliked}.
13.It was the generous habit of the Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
to always greet first. Even he greeted the children first.
14.The Beloved of Allah Hadrat Muhammad
has
said:
16.The older woman's greeting should be responded loudly and the younger woman's greeting should be responded so softly that they can not hear you. However it should be loud enough for the one who responds to hear it.
17.Greeting in any other way except Assalaamu 'Alaikum does not fulfill the Sunnah of Islam.
18.Say Assalaam 'Alaikum when arriving and also when departing. If you want to say Khuda Hafi'z {Allah is the protector} when departing say it by all means, but only after saying Assalaamu 'Alaikum.
19.When someone arrives at the gathering and greets with Assalaamu 'Alaikum, even for one from the gathering to respond is sufficient. If no one responds, all in the gathering have sinned.
20.If someone speaks before greeting with Assalaamu 'Alaikum, it is optional to respond or ignore.
21.Muslim woman when they meet should use Islamic greeting of Assalaamu 'Alaikum. They are not exempt.
22.When 2 Muslim brothers are walking together and separate because of a tree or a wall in their path, as soon as they meet again they should greet with Assalaamu 'Alaikum.

in Usul Ul Fiqh {Studies in Principles of Fiqh}" by Brother Iyad Hilal.
TAQLEED
Taqleed linguistically means to follow others without thinking. As a juristic term it means to follow a Mujtahid's Ijtihad without comprehending the Daleel. In other words, the Muqallid (a person who practices Taqleed) may or may not know the Daleel. In addition, one may not know the reason for using the Daleel even though they know the Daleel.
There are two types of Muqalid:
A. Muttabi'a is the follower who acquaints himself with the Daleel (evidence) used by the Mujtahid to arrive at the Ahkam but he does not have to comprehend the reason for using the specific Daleel.
B. Ammi is one who follows a Mujtahid's Ijtihad without asking for a Daleel.
11.1 Daleel for performing Taqleed:
We have not sent before thee but men whom We reveal to them. So ask the people of knowledge if you know not.' (An-Nahal: 43)
This Ayah was revealed in response to the disbeliever's argument
that Muhammad
was a human, but the meaning is general in the
Arabic language; the meaning is that Allah
orders those
who do not know to ask those who know. Hence, Taqleed only in the Hukm Sharii is allowed
for every Muslim. This understanding is further supported in the next paragraph by the
incident narrated by Jabir
.
Jabir
has narrated that one man
suffered a wound to his head. Whilst sleeping he had a wet dream. He asked the companions
if he could make Tayamumm. They said that he had no excuse for not performing Ghusl. After
performing Ghusl the man died. When the Prophet
was informed
of the incident he
said:
"Verily it was enough for him to do Tayamumm, to place a piece
of cloth on his head, which he should then wipe (Mas'h) and then for him to wash the rest
of his body." He
then said: "They (the companions)
should ask if they do not know."
(Abu Dawood, Maja, Ahmad)
Thus, the Prophet
made it very clear to
the companions that they should ask about the ruling if they are not aware of it.
11.2 Muslims Must Ask for Daleel
Having given the Daleel for the permissibility of practicing Taqleed
in Islam, it is crucial to point out that the follower must, when an issue confronts him,
ask about its Hukm and Daleel. Our worship includes the pursuit of knowledge. As slaves of
Allah, we must know Allah's
rule for every action we
perform. Narrated by Abdullah bin Amr: I heard the Prophet
say,
The Prophet
said "Allah does not
remove the 'Ilm after it was given to you, rather the 'Ilm would be removed with the death
of the Ulema. Then some people, who are ignorant, will start giving their Ra'ee based on
their desires and they are misled and will lead the Ummah astray." {Bukhari &
Ahmad}
For Muslims to avoid the consequence of this Hadith, they must ask
for a Daleel before performing Taqleed.
11.3 Taqleed is not practiced in the Aqeedah {Belief}
It should be clear that the subject of Taqleed is limited to the
Hukm {rule} and does not include the Aqeedah {Belief}. It is forbidden to make Taqleed in
the creed, i.e. Aqeedah. Allah
say's.
"And if they said to them follow what Allah
has revealed, they said but we follow what our fore fathers
left for us. Even if their fathers understood not, and were not guided." {Al -
Baqarah: 170} {Inshaallah, to be continued}

This subject has been given vital importance by The Holy Quran and
as such also by the Beloved of my soul, Hadrat Muhammad
, to
such a degree that success in the Hereafter has been promised only to those who purify.
Surah 87 Verse 14 Translation: Indeed whosoever purifies
himself shall achieve success {in the Hereafter}
Surah 91 Verse 9 & 10 Translation: Indeed he succeeds who purifies his own self. And indeed he fails who corrupts his own self {failing to purify}.
Purification in the above Ayahs refers not to bodily purification, for which the appropriate word that is used is "Tahaarah," which is achieved by wudu for minor Hadath {impurities} and by Ghusl {Head Shower} for major Hadath. The Quranic word used is "Tazakka" in Surah 87, Al A'la and "Zakkaha" in Surah 91, Ash-Shams. What is being purified is the self {Nafs} and the impurity is Nafsul Ammaarah {That False Self, also referred to in English as Ego, which actually commands us.} Since it ALWAYS Commands us {Ammaarah} to perform sins and disobey The Real King, Allah the Most Exalted, and all humanity including a majority of Muslims obey this false self to a great degree {without being aware of it} and only a hand full to a lesser degree. Fewer are totally purified by the mercy of Allah Rabbul Izzah.
Since this False Self corrupts our spiritual Heart, Allah has referred to this phenomenon in The Holy Quran as Amraadul Qalb {Diseases of the Spiritual Heart} The Most Beloved of my soul The Holy prophet Muhammad declared that The Holy Wars {Jehad Ul Qitaal} are minor struggles and Jihadun Nafs {struggle with Nafsul Ammara} as Jihadul Akbar {Major Struggle}.
Our beloved readers, jewels of our eyes, will realize the importance
in our lives of Tazkiatun Nafs in other words, healing of the Spiritual Heart from
diseases which beset it, from the extracts of The Holy Quran and Hadith mentioned above.
Inshaallah Ta'la in our next issue, you will read about how this vital aspect of guidance
from Allah and His Beloved Hadrat Muhammad
was neglected for
centuries when common Muslims and scholars thought just studying Quran, Hadith, and
Shariah in depth was enough to learn to worship The Lord of the Universe. {To be continued

Just like a servant of the master invites the rebellious and disobedient subjects towards obedience {of the master} by recounting the obligations and showing the greatness of the master and teaching them etiquette of faithfulness - such a servant/slave although not holding any office or title, is loved by the master and a servant who gives his life for his master, the master will be indeed proud of him. The master will not be so proud of any of his other workers. The master will love every such faithful servant who would call his subjects to his obedience or even give his life for this mission.
OR
Just as a lover lost in the magnificent sights of the beloved sings the songs of his attributes and perfection, sings for the whole world to listen and make everyone enamoured {of the beloved}.
'Aabid {worshipper} is preoccupied with the worship of his master, has no connection with others - and this is the lowest station of worship.
MUBALLIGH {CONVEYOR of THE MESSAGE} is himself obedient and invites all in the kingdom toward obedience.
AND
The one who gives his life {for this work} is better than both, is higher no one else's obedience can reach this station.

death in the city of The Rasool
