Aqeedah: It has been thousands of years since Paradise and Hell Fire have been created and they are now present. It is not that they are not created yet and will be made on the Day of Judgment.
Aqeedah: Qiyaamah, resurrection, reckoning, Thawaab (Rewards), Adzaab (Punishment), Jannah (Paradise) and Hell Fire, their meaning is the same as understood and known to the Muslims. The person who accepts them as Haq but invents new meanings for them such as Thawaab means to feel happy with ones good deeds and Adzaab is to feel sad with ones evil deeds and resurrection is only of souls, is actually a denier of the Truth and as such a Kaafir.
The Account of Jannah (Paradise)
Jannah is an abode prepared by Allaah
for the Believers. The gifts bestowed in it are such
that no eye has beheld ever before, nor any ear has heard ever before nor any heart ever
experienced before (Except the beloved of Allaah
,
Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
,who saw, heard
and experienced all during the Night of Miraaj). Any examples given in its praises
and description, are only attempts at explanation because even the best and superlative
objects of the world have no comparison with any of the gifts of Jannah. If a woman
of Paradise were to cast a glance at the earth, the entire earth and the skies would be
illuminated and filled with perfume and the light of sun and moon will fade away.
Her head cover is more valuable than everything contained in this world. It is mentioned in a Riwaayah (Narration) that if a Hoor (Pure female companion of Paradise) were to show her palm in between the skies and the earth, its beauty will create a Fitnah (Mischief) among the creation. If she were to reveal her head cover, its beauty will make the sun pale just as lamp fades away in the presence of the sun. If any object from Jannah the size of a nail is made to appear in the world, it will decorate the entire heavens and the earth. If a bracelet of a woman of Paradise is revealed, it will wipe out the brightness of the sun as the sun wipes out the brightness of the stars. The place in Jannah where any waste may be kept is better than anything in the heavens and the earth.
How vast is Jannah? Only Allaah
and his beloved Rasoolallaah
have the knowledge. According to a summarized account, there
are one hundred stations in it. The distance between any two stations is as much as
distance between the heavens and the earth. The vastness of each station can be
comprehended by a Hadeeth Shareef of the Tirmidzee collection which indicates that
if the entire universe were to be in one station then it will be vast enough for all in
that station. There is a kind of tree in Jannah under the shade of which a rider on
a fast horse could travel for one hundred years without coming out of it. The gates of Jannah
are so wide that a fast horse could travel between the two sides for 70 years. Even then
because of the crowd of those going in and out, their shoulders will rub against each
other and the gates be will creaking.
There are palaces made of a variety of precious stones; they are so pure and clean that the outside is visible from the inside and the inside from the outside.. The walls of Paradise are made of bricks of gold and silver and kneaded musk; brick of gold alternating with the brick of silver. Ground is made of pebbles of saffron, pearls and rubies. One narration has it that Jannah of Adn (Aden) has a brick of white pearls alternating with one of red rubies and one of green topaz; the ground is made of kneaded musk; instead of grass it has saffron and pebbles of pearls and the soil made of sweet smelling Ambar (Ambergris). The tents of pearls will be as tall as 60 miles. Jannah has four rivers, one of water, the second of milk, the third of honey and the fourth of wine (Non intoxicating). From these rivers will flow out rivulets which reach every house. These rivulets do not flow below the ground level but flow above the ground. One shore of the rivers is made up of pearls and the other of rubies. The river beds are made of pure musk. The wine of Paradise is not like the one on this earth: bad smelling, bitter and intoxicating and those who consume it losing their sanity, talking obscenities being out of control of their faculties. The pure wine of Paradise is free from all such impurities. The food will be delicious of all kinds and whatever is desired will be presented to them. If on seeing a bird, one would desire to eat its meat, it would be immediately brought to them, tastily fried. If there is need for water, carafes will appear in the hands containing the right mixture of water, milk, wine and honey. The quantity will be exactly according to their desire, not one drop more nor one drop less.
To be continued InshaAllaah Taalaa

VIRTUES OF PURIFICATION (Tazkiatun Nafs) Continued
My beloved readers, every organ of our bodies
performs a particular function. If it fails to perform its function or performs it under
uneasiness or anguish, then that organ would be considered unhealthy. For instance a
diseased hand may not be able to grip and hold objects, a diseased eye will not be able to
see or see with difficulty. Similarly a diseased spiritual heart will not be able to
perform its specific function, which is knowledge, wisdom, love and worship of Allaah
and obtain pleasure from His Dzikr and to prefer
it above all desires, and obtain help from all the organs and all other aspirations, for
the purpose of engaging in His Dzikr. Allaah
has
mentioned in the Holy Quraan: "Wa Maa Khalaqtul Jinna
wal Insa Ilaa Liyabudoon" Soorah 51 Aayah 56.
Translation: "I created the jinn and humankind
only that they might worship Me". From this it is known that the appropriate
function of the heart of human beings is the worship and the Marifah (Special
Knowledge) of Allaah
and the sign of the knowledge of Allaah
is the love for Him, because the
one who knows Him becomes absorbed in His love. The sign of love for Him is that
preference is not given over Him to the world and all that it contains and everything held
dear. Allaah
says in the Holy Quraan:
"Qul in Kaana Aabaaukum wa Abnaaukum wa Ikhwaanukum wa Azwaajukum wa Asheeratukum wa Amwaal unuqtaraftumoohaa
waTijaaratun Takhshauna Kasaadahaa wa Masaakinu Tardaunahaa Ahabba ilaikum minAllaahi wa Rasoolihi Wa Jahaadi Fee Sabeelihee Fatarabbasoo Hattaa YatiAllaahu Biamrihi wAllaahu Laa Yahdil Qaumul Faasiqeen." Soorah 9 Aayah 43.
Translation: "Say: If it be that your fathers your
sons your brothers your mates or your kindred; the wealth that you have gained; the
commerce in which you fear a decline; or the dwellings in which you delight are dearer to
you than Allaah
or His Messenger or the
striving in his cause; then wait until Allaah
brings about His decision: and Allaah
guides not the rebellious."
Thus, whoever holds anything dearer than Allaah
has a diseased heart, just as someones stomach has
more liking for soil of the earth than to bread and water and loses his appetite, he has a
disease. These are the symptoms of disease of hearts; and from this account we know that
all hearts are diseased, Illaa MaashaAllaah (except those which Allaah
wills differently). Moreover, because there are some
diseases that the patient is unaware of and the disease of the heart is from among them, a
person remains unaware, therefore neglectful. Even if he gets to know about it, patience
toward the severity of the cure is very difficult, because the treatment requires
opposition to the lusts and attachments which he considers as agonies of death, and even
if he does find patience within himself, he cannot find a skillful doctor who could cure
his disease as the doctors of this disease should be the scholars and they themselves are
suffering from this disease and since they will not heal themselves, how can they heal
others.
The patient with the disease of the heart has therefore become incurable. The knowledge of the cure is no longer with the people nor does any one know about this disease. People when they started leaning towards the Dunya and started paying attention to only those deeds which are Ibaadah (Worship) in the apparent only. In their hidden self, this Ibaadah became Ria (Showing off) and just a habit. This has happened to such a degree that they became symptoms of the laws of the diseases (Of the hearts).
In order to embark upon healing ones diseased heart,
the first step is to recognize ones own symptoms. The symptoms of course are our
short comings. One must know that when Allaah
wills
to do some one a favor, He turns that persons eyes towards his own diseases. It is
obvious that if one does not know his disease, he has no way of treating it ! It is only
after realizing ones shortcoming that a cure is possible. Hadrat Umar
used to say: "May Allaahs mercy be upon the
one who will show me my defects".
The cure of the diseased heart is in the abandonment of Shahwaat
(Lusts, attachments), which is the manifestation of Ego desires. This is because the
constituent of this disease is the submission to the demands of the Nafs ul Ammaaraa
(Ego). Hadrat Yahyaa bin Maaaz
has said that
the Nafs ul Ammaaraa should be fought with the swords of Austerity. This exercise
of austerity is made up of 4 disciplines: Eating little, sleeping little, speaking only
when necessary and to bear gracefully and without complaining, the pain, annoyance and
oppression given by people. Eating little destroys lust. Intentions are purified by
sleeping little. Talking less, keeps one safe from mischief of the tongue. To bear
distress and pain caused by people takes one to the highest levels because there is
nothing more difficult for any person than to bear the harshness of being commanded,
injustice, tyranny and oppression.
My beloved readers, jewels of my eyes, books have been
written on the subject of Tazkiatun Nafs. All those who have reached the levels of Auliaa
Kiraam (Friends of Allaah
) are unanimous in
their advice: Find a real Shaikh ul Kaamil who is the real doctor of the diseases
of the heart and submit yourself to his healing. We end the series here. Help for this
last installment on this subject was taken from the well known book in 4 volumes "Ihyaa
Uloom ud Deen" by Hujjat ul Islaam, Hadrat Shaikh Imaam Muhammad
Ghazaalee, Rahmatullaah Alaih. May Allaah
instill
in our hearts the longing to attain supreme submission to Him and His most beloved Hadrat
Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
and turn us
inwards to embark upon this sacred Jihaad ul Akbar as a means to achieve it and
help us win it. Aameen.

Sunnah and Aadaab of drinking water
My most beloved jewels of my eyes, water undoubtedly is an
essential and a great Nimah (Gift ) to all of us from Allaah the Khair
ur Raaziqeen ( The best of Providers). It is not possible to survive without it. All
the creation of this earth drinks water. Animals drink water, plants consume water and
human beings also drink water. You will realize that Kaafirs also drink water.
Muslims have a unique advantage over all other human beings: When we drink water the way
the beloved of Allaah
, Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa
Maulaanaa Muhammad
used to drink it, it becomes the
worship of Allaah
an act of Sunnah, for
which He showers Eternal rewards upon us. Let us learn about this Sunnah so that we
may enrich our Eternal life with rewards in profusion and most definitely receive the
Pleasure of the One Who created us with His Immense Love. Is this not exactly why we have
been placed on this earth?
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Aaishah Siddeeqah
has narrated that among all waters, sweet
and cold water was well liked by Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
.Tirmidzee Shareef
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Anas
has narrated that Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
used to breathe three times during drinking any drink and he
did not breathe out inside the drinking vessel but outside it.
Bukhaaree Shareef and Muslim
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Ibn Abbaas
has narrated that Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
has said: " Do not drink like a camel, in one continuous
gulp but in two or three sips. And when starting to drink recite Bismillaah
and after finishing, recite Alhamdulillaah ". Tirmidzee Shareef
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Qataadah
has narrated that Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
used to prohibit breathing into vessels. Bukhaaree Shareef
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Aboo Hurairah
has narrated that the beloved of Allaah
Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
has said: " None among you should drink standing; the one
who forgets should (bring out the water) by vomiting ". Muslim
Note: My beloved readers, we should never ever
forget even in our sleep that Allaah
has
commanded all of us to obey our master Muhammad
;
disobedience to him
is therefore the disobedience of Allaah
![]()
In Soorah 4, Aayah 69 it is said: "And whoever obeys Allaah and the Messenger, they are in the company of those whom Allaah has blessed" In Soorah 33, Aayah 71 it is said: "And whoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger, he has won a great success"
Gems of my eyes, who among us would not want to be in the
company of those blessed by Allaah
and who among
us would not want to win a great success?
Let us look at the other side. In Soorah 72, Aayah
23 it is said: "And whoever disobeys Allaah and His
Messenger, for him there is the fire of Jahannam. There they shall remain for ever ". In the face of such a warning who would dare disobey the beloved of Allaah
? Should we be embarrassed in front of those who are ignorant,
to squat on the floor like the beloved of Allaah
when
we are drinking? Looking at the consequences both ways, I am sure we will always chose to
obey Allaah
and His beloved Messenger
.
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Ibn Abbaas
has narrated that when he respectfully offered the beloved of
Allaah
Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
the water of Zamzam, he
drank
standing. Bukhaaree and Muslim.
Note: To drink the water of Zamzam and the
leftover Wudoo water standing, is the blessed Sunnah of Hadrat Sayyidinaa
wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
. When drinking the Zamzam water,
one should face the Holy Kabah and whatever Duaa is made, will
be accepted InshaAllaah Taalaa. Drinking leftover wudoo water
standing, removes 70 diseases, InshaAllaah Taalaa.
To be continued InshaAllaah Taalaa.

VIRTUES OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF FIQH AND SHAREEAH ( Continued)
Our wonderful sisters should make it a point to study this section carefully because our Salaahs acceptance among other things is dependent upon our Tahaarah (Purity): No purity no acceptance.
Nifaas (Bleeding after Childbirth)
The bleeding that occurs in women after more than half the baby has been delivered is called Nifaas in the language of the Sharee'ah. The bleeding issuing forth before that stage is not Nifaas.
Period of Nifaas
The maximum period of Nifaas is 40 days, the minimum being variable. Some women may not have any such bleeding at all.
Regulations Concerning Nifaas.
1. Even if a woman has no discharge of Nifaas at all, it is essential for her to have purification bath after the delivery.
2. Bleeding of any colour, except white, during the 40 days period will be looked upon as Nifaas.
3. The minimum period of purity after the cessation of Nifaas and before the beginning of the menses is 15 days.
4. In case of an abortion, if a limb or two of the fetus had been formed, the bleeding would be Nifaas, otherwise not. If this bleeding fulfils the conditions of the menses, it will be regarded as menstrual, but if it continues for less than three days, or the period of purity falls short of 15 days, it would be known as Istihadah.
5. If a woman has Nifaas for more than 40 days, and this is her first delivery, the first 40 days will be counted as the period, the rest will be regarded as Istihadah. She should, therefore, have purification bath and start performing her religious duties without waiting for the cessation of bleeding. But if this is her second or a subsequent delivery, she should count her usual days and regard the extra days as part of Istihadah.
6. If a woman usually has Nifaas for 30 days, but on some occasion it continues for 40 days, she should count this whole
period for Nifaas; if, however, bleeding does not stop even after 40 days, she should count her usual period of 30 days for Nifaas, and regard the rest as Istihadah. She should, therefore, have purification bath immediately and perform the prayers missed by her during the previous ten days.
7. If a woman has less than her usual 40 days of Nifaas, she should take purification bath and start performing her prayers. If, however, bath is likely to be harmful, she may obtain purity through Tayammum and start observing her religious duties forthwith.
Injunctions Concerning Nifaas and Menstrual Bleeding
1. It is forbidden to perform the prayers or observe the fast during the menses and Nifaas. The prayer is excused, but the abandoned fasts have to be completed after one has obtained purity.
2. It is forbidden for a menstruating woman or one having Nifaas to enter a mosque, move round the Ka'bah, or recite the Quraan.
3. Such a woman is forbidden even to perform the Sajdah Tilawah or touch the Qur'aan, even with the clothes she is wearing; she may, however, handle it by means of a handkerchief or the wrapper.
4. She may, if she likes, recite Al-Faatihah, the Qunut,
Kalimah, Durood, or other supplications and sacred words given in the Qur'aan with the
intention of seeking Allaah's
forgiveness and
mercy.
5. She may attend the 'Id Prayers, visit a religious educational institution, and even enter the mosque for same necessity, but should have performed Tayammum.
6. A woman who is teaching the Qur'aan may continue doing so even during the menses, but she should not recite a whole verse in the same breath, but should recite and teach it piecemeal.
7. It is forbidden for the husband to have sexual intercourse with the menstruating wife or the one having Nifaas.
They may, however, embrace and caress each other and eat and sleep together; it has rather been disapproved to segregate the menstruating wife and to avoid eating with her or caressing her.

TRANSLATION OF THE HIGHLY ACCLAIMED BOOK IN 5 VOUMES " MAKSHOOFAAT MANAAZIL EHSAAN"

Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Abee Dzar

it will by itself be sufficient for them". (That Aayah is) Soorah 65, Part Aayah 2
and part Aayah 3.
Translation: Aayah 2 ". . . And for those who fear Allaah, He (ever) prepares a way out. Aayah 3 And He provides for him from (sources) he never could imagine. And if anyone puts his trust in Allaah, sufficient is (Allaah) for him . . ."
Ahmad, Ibn Maajah, Daarimee.
Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Anas
has said that at the time of Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa
Muhammad
, there were two brothers. One of them used to
present himself in the blessed presence of the Rasoolallaah
and the other one had a profession. The latter complained about the former to the
Rasoolallaah
(That he does not do any work). The beloved of
Allaah
Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
said: "May be you receive your Rizq (Provision), from his

Hadeeth Shareef: Hadrat Ibn Masood
has narrated that Hadrat Sayyidinaa wa Maulaanaa Muhammad
said: "People! There is nothing that will get you close to
the Jannah and distance you from the Hell Fire other than the one I have ordered you (To
do). If there is nothing that will get you close to the Hell fire and distance you from
the Jannah, but the thing I have prohibited you from. And Hadrat Jibraeel
has put it in my heart that a person does not die till such time
as he has completed (Receiving) his Rizq. Beware: Fear Allaah Taalaa and use
moderation in obtaining your Rizq. A delay in receiving your Rizq may not make you
agreeable to obtaining it by committing sins, because the thing which is with Allaah can
be obtained only through His obedience". Sharah As Sunnah.
It does not matter what anyone says . . . , provision
is received daily. Allaah
gives it and gives it
to every possessor of the soul. Whoever has to receive his provision from wherever and in
whatever quantity, will most certainly receive it. No one can stop it; nor can any one
increase it.
If . . .
THE PROVISION OF THE SLAVES
were under the control of slaves . . . why would Rabb ul Kareem (The Bounteous Lord) be called Raaziq ul Mutlaq (The Absolute Provider) and what would not the slaves do to other slaves. Similarly, in everyones household matters, whether of the rich or the poor, take place according to the System of the Divine Power. To hold ones head in (Anguish) with thoughts of what may happen tomorrow is wasteful mental calisthenics.
Who has knowledge of tomorrow ?
What will happen ? How will it happen ?
IN THE SAME WAY
Yesterday is gone. To spend time regretting, is to spoil the present moment. To live in the past and the future is like destroying the present. The past is gone, in whatever way it did . . . and no one has any knowledge of the future .. hence live in the present; do not remain idle, be occupied with some useful work and no other worker but the consummate in this expertise (Of Faqr) can show a useful work. "ASMAA UL HUSNAH" ( THE MOST BEAUTIFUL NAMES ) . . . continued
Extracts from the Book "The Most Beautiful Names" compiled by
Hadrat Shaikh Tosun Bayrak al- Jerrahi al-Halveti
In the Quraan Allaah
says,
"Salaamun qawlan min Rabbin Raheem" the Beneficent Lord sends
salaampeace, blessing, protection, salvation, and salutationto the believers
in Paradise (36:57). In this Aayah Allaah ar-Raheem rewards the believers with the
security and joy of the wished-for Paradise. He is the one who saves the believing
servants from all dangers, bringing them the peace, blessing, and security of Paradise.
As-Salaam is this state of being free of all fault, error, danger and trouble. In this it
resembles the divine name al-Quddoos, but it pertains to the future. It also means the one
who is persisting, uninterrupted, unfaltering, unweakening, continuing to eternity.
Those who find the peace and security of as-Salaam in their
hearts believe in and depend on Allah in all their affairs, and know that by the grace of
that name they will be saved from all dangers and difficulties. When they are saved from a
danger by someone, they see the real savior, although they are also thankful to the
intermediary. A Turkish proverb says, "Don't lean on a tree that will but dry up and
decay; don't depend on men, they will but age and die". The one who depends on Allaah
, as-Salaam, the savior, will never panic.
Allaah's
strength will show itself in him as the
fearlessness of the believer. This is the manifestation of as-Salaam.
Patience is also a manifestation of as-Salaam. Allaah
says, "If I give a pain to my servant either
through his body or possessions or his family or children and he encounters this with the
strength of patience and belief in Me, I would be embarrassed to weigh his deeds and to
look into the books of his actions on the Day of Last Judgment". To be
continued InshaAllaah Taalaa.

ABOUT DAAR-UL-EHSAAN AND OUR HUMBLE ACTIVITIES
One of the several reasons that we compiled and posted"TheVirtues
of Islaamic Life" early every month was so that you could take full
advantage of the wonderful and sometimes unbelievable virtues of each Hijrah month.
By the Grace of Allaah
you have all the twelve
months virtues now available to you. We urge you to preserve the issues and
faithfully utilize them each month to your fullest capacity and not miss out on the
incredible rewards you will receive in the Hereafter. Our struggle always is to present to
you the full glory and beauty of Islaam, its virtues and practices. Our web pages of the "Virtues
of Islaamic Life" and "The Truth About Islaam" for the
non-believers is generating by the Grace of Allaah
,
a high volume of questions, requests for help etc. etc. In order to respond, which is an
important ingredient of our on going Dawah effort, in an appropriately
accurate manner, much time is required for research. As you are probably aware we also run
"The Blessed Pantry" supplying food and essentials to the needy. Our
Jamaaah goes out for Dawah trips regularly. We also go out to other States for
speeches and seminars both to muslims and non-muslims. We also have intensive Taleem
of our own Jamaaah (which is increasing steadily, Alhamdulillaah), at least
twice weekly. You can see, we have a fairly heavy load of responsibility and work, all of
which of course is Ibaadah, for which we are eternally grateful to our Master
and Lord of the Universe. Every effort InshaAllaah Taalaa will be made to
bring out "Virtues of Islaamic Life" every month. However we
will not sacrifice quality in anything we do with the blessings of our Shaikh, Hadrat
Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat Ali, Rahmatullaah Alaih, the Grace of Allaah
and your Duaas. Therefore, we may skip a
month here and there. Please keep track of the issues by their volume and the
numbers. Months will be mentioned in which they come out, but they will be incidental.
Every beginning of the Hijrah year (Muharram ul Haraam) the volume number
will go up a number and the numbering will start from 1. Please remember us in your Duaas
regularly.
